WASHINGTON, DC,— The Kurdistan National Assembly of Syria officially welcomes former US Congressman Steve Stockman’s upcoming visit to the Kurdistan Region. Rep. Stockman is visiting Erbil and surrounding areas on a tour centered on assessing the latest security, humanitarian and economic developments. It will occur during the week of April 19th.
“It is with honor and great appreciation that we welcome Rep. Stockman’s return to the region. He has consistently stood with the Kurdish People as an ally in Congress, and continues to show his true friendship with his interest in our cause after his time in Congress,” said Dr. Sherkoh Abbas, President of KURDNAS.
“We eagerly look forward to working with Rep. Stockman to increase awareness of our cause and are immensely encouraged by his dedication,” Dr. Abbas added.
Rep. Steve Stockman represented the Houston area of Texas in the US House of Representatives for two terms, from 1995-1997 and 2012-2014, as a conservative member of the Republican Party. He is CEO of Chasseur Wilshire, a petrochemical supply company, and is scheduled to attend the 2015 Erbil Oil & Gas Expo in Erbil as an official VIP and opening speaker.
“The Kurdish People are among the best allies of America, and they deserve all the support we can give them in their fight – for me, it’s a no-brainer: we must do more, and I’m pleased to have the opportunity to return to the Kurdistan Region,” said Rep. Stockman, in a statement shared with KURDNAS.
Kurdistan National Assembly of Syria is an umbrella organization for the Syrian Kurdistan Region that seeks freedom, peace, and democracy for Syria. After first organizing in 2006, KURDNAS has become the leading western advocate and voice for the Kurdistan Region in Syria.
